Cathedral Bells

The Cathedral bells cut through the morning air with a deafening clang as the night spirits scurry into the shadows.  The echoes spread to the valley floor and return in a softened repeat.  In my solitude I absorb all that is around me, seen and unseen. Waiting

 I am numb, I do not feel the cold, except deep within my heart.  I walk by the graves, to each I feel a kinship.  They sing into the wind the music only a mother will know and a child has not forgotten.
